Back on the Blogging Horse

Ok, so I actually managed to return to Vienna in November and start working full-time at TWR on a one-year contract. Amazing! Not what I had imagined would be possible when I left for the UK last summer. I feel really blessed to have supporters behind me and unexpected gifts that have made this possible. Thank you, Lord.

... And then somewhere in all the adjustments of getting into full-time office work with new tasks and a new schedule, the blog got lost. I even wrote a post before Christmas I think, which never got posted - oops! Sorry for the huge gap. And thanks to those who have encouraged me to get back on the horse (for the one friend who has actually seen me ride a horse, please excuse the bad choice of metaphor).

I'm writing this post almost as a stream of consciousness, so that I press 'post' at the end and don't make the above-mentioned mistake once again. With the extended hibernation period on the blog, I had to look back at October's post. And the funny thing is, while my situation is different now to then- I wasn't 100% sure I'd start full-time at TWR- I'm still a toddler tugging at God's coat, wanting to have control over things I should be leaving up to Him. November and December were a time of settling in, working hard and then enjoying Christmas. I was (/thought I was) comfortable with not knowing exactly what 2015 would bring. Cue January 2015 and I'm suddenly very aware that I will have to make decisions as the year continues. And there's still a bit of support I'd like to raise!

It's a bit late for new year's resolutions but perhaps the start of Lent and the decision to set aside more time to spend with God in the quiet, is a better time to take steps to trust Him more and give up more of what I (falsely) see as my rights.

And I intend to post at least once a fortnight (a realistic goal) about life, work and support raising in Vienna. Here goes...
